Pick and Pull: Junkyard Finder

Pick and Pull (“the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using Pick and Pull, you agree to this policy.

Summary

• We do not require an account, sign-in, or personal registration.
• We do not sell your personal information.
• Your saved cars, alerts, and settings are stored only on your device.
• Location is used only on your device to find nearby yards and is never transmitted to us.
• Subscriptions are processed by Apple, not by us.
• We use the Meta (Facebook) SDK solely to measure whether our ads on Meta platforms helped you discover the App. iOS’s App Tracking Transparency prompt lets you opt out at any time.

Information We Access

Location data

With your permission (“When In Use”), the App uses your device’s location to show salvage yards near you and to set a search radius. This location data is processed on your device only. It is not stored on our servers and is not shared with us or any third party. You can deny or revoke location access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services; the App remains usable without it (you can set a location manually).

Data you enter and save

Your saved vehicles, search criteria, alerts, and app settings are stored locally on your device using Apple’s on-device storage (SwiftData / UserDefaults). This information is not transmitted to us.

API key (optional)

If you choose to use the optional parse.bot data source, the API key you enter is stored securely in the device Keychain. It never leaves your device except to authenticate your own requests to the parse.bot service you configured.

Information Sent Over the Network

To display inventory, the App requests publicly available vehicle listings from a third-party data source you select in Settings:

• Row52 (built-in): requests are made to row52.com.
• parse.bot API (optional): requests are made to the parse.bot service using your own API key.

These requests contain only the search parameters needed to retrieve inventory (such as make, model, year, and yard). They do not include personal identifiers created by us. Your use of these third-party services is subject to their own privacy policies and terms.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Pick and Pull offers an optional Premium subscription (monthly or yearly). All payments, billing, and subscription management are handled by Apple through your Apple Account. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple’s handling of your purchase information is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

When a subscription starts, we log an event to Meta (see the next section) that records the purchase amount and currency so we can measure whether our advertising campaigns led to it. We do not send Meta your Apple Account, email, name, or payment details.

Analytics and Advertising

Pick and Pull uses the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure whether our advertising campaigns on Meta platforms (Facebook, Instagram) helped you discover the App and to optimize those campaigns. This is the only analytics or advertising SDK in the App.

What we send to Meta

• Standard app events, such as the App opening, the paywall being viewed, a free trial starting, a subscription starting, and a purchase completing, along with the purchase amount and currency.
• Your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) — only if you tap “Allow” on the iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt shown at the end of onboarding. If you deny tracking, events are still sent but Meta cannot tie them to your IDFA.
• Standard device signals collected automatically by the SDK, such as device model, iOS version, bundle identifier, and Apple’s SKAdNetwork attribution postbacks.

What we do not send to Meta

• Your saved vehicles, search terms, alerts, locations, or API keys.
• Your Apple Account, email, name, or contact details.
• Your precise location or any content you enter in the App.

Your choices

• Change your tracking choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, then find Pick and Pull in the list. Turning tracking off stops the IDFA from being shared with Meta.
• Manage ad personalization on Meta at accountscenter.meta.com.
• Meta’s handling of the data it receives is governed by the Meta Privacy Policy.

Notifications

If you enable alerts, the App schedules local notifications on your device when a matching vehicle is found. These notifications are generated on your device and are not sent through our servers.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because the data you enter into the App is stored locally on your device, we do not retain it. You can delete all app data at any time by deleting the App from your device. Removing a saved vehicle or alert within the App deletes that item immediately.

The analytics events sent to Meta are retained and processed by Meta under their own policies. You can request deletion of Meta-held data directly through your Meta Account Center.

Children’s Privacy

Pick and Pull is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), you may have rights regarding personal data. Because the App does not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. For the limited analytics data shared with Meta, contact Meta directly to exercise your rights over that data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
