Limit Fit: Walk to Unlock Apps

Last updated: July 2, 2026

Overview

LimitFit is designed to help users reduce distracting app use by blocking selected apps until they complete movement goals such as walking, running, or other step-based activity.

Your privacy is important to us. LimitFit is built to collect as little personal information as possible. Most LimitFit data is stored locally on your device and is used only to provide app blocking, step tracking, streaks, stats, notifications, and related app features.

The main exception is limited advertising measurement: if you consent, LimitFit shares a small amount of aggregated data with Meta so we can measure whether our ads are effective. This is explained in the “Advertising Measurement (Meta)” section below.

This Privacy Policy explains what information LimitFit collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.

Developer

LimitFit is operated by BudgetAppsCo.

Information We Collect

1. Profile Information

LimitFit may ask for optional profile information during onboarding, such as:

  • Age
  • Weight
  • Fitness level
  • Personal goals
  • Preferred notification style
  • Step goal preferences

This information is used to recommend realistic movement goals and personalize your LimitFit experience. Age and weight are optional. You can skip these fields or change them later in the app.

2. Step and Movement Data

LimitFit uses step and movement data to determine when you have completed a goal and earned access to blocked apps. Depending on your device settings and permissions, LimitFit may use:

  • Step count
  • Walking or running distance
  • Activity progress
  • Health or motion data available through iOS

LimitFit uses this data only to power movement goals, streaks, progress, stats, and unlocking features. LimitFit does not sell your health, fitness, or movement data, and does not share it with advertisers.

3. App Blocking Data

LimitFit lets you choose which apps, app categories, or websites you want to block. To provide this feature, LimitFit may store information such as:

  • Selected apps or categories to block
  • Block schedules
  • Step goals required to unlock apps
  • Quick Lock sessions
  • Unlock duration
  • Block completion history

LimitFit uses this information only to provide app blocking and unlocking features. LimitFit does not use your selected blocked apps for advertising or tracking.

4. Streaks, Scores, and Stats

LimitFit may store progress information such as:

  • Current streak
  • Best streak
  • Steps earned
  • Blocks completed
  • Screen time saved
  • LimitScore
  • Unlock history
  • Daily and weekly progress

This information is used to show your progress, motivate you, and support leaderboard features if enabled.

5. Notifications

If you allow notifications, LimitFit may send reminders such as:

  • App block started
  • Steps remaining
  • Unlock completed
  • Streak reminder
  • Night Lock reminder
  • Weekly progress summary

You can turn notifications off at any time in the LimitFit app settings or in iOS Settings.

6. Game Center and Leaderboards

If LimitFit uses Apple Game Center and you choose to participate, certain leaderboard information may be shared through Game Center, such as:

  • LimitScore
  • Streak score
  • Steps earned
  • Time saved
  • Game Center nickname
  • Game Center avatar

Game Center is operated by Apple and is subject to Apple’s own privacy policies and settings. LimitFit does not publicly display your age, weight, or private profile information on leaderboards.

7. Purchase Information

If LimitFit offers subscriptions or in-app purchases, payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. LimitFit may receive limited purchase status information from Apple, such as whether you have an active subscription, trial, or purchase entitlement. LimitFit does not receive your full payment card number or full billing details.

8. Advertising Measurement Data

If you consent through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, LimitFit shares a limited set of measurement data with Meta to understand whether our advertising is effective. This may include:

  • A device or advertising identifier
  • App events such as app installs or app opens
  • Aggregated conversion measurement data

This data is used only to measure ad performance. See “Advertising Measurement (Meta)” below for details.

9. Support Communications

If you contact us for support, we may receive:

  • Your email address
  • Your message
  • Screenshots or information you choose to provide
  • Device or app details needed to troubleshoot an issue

We use this information only to respond to your request and improve LimitFit.

How We Use Information

LimitFit uses information to:

  • Create personalized movement goals
  • Block selected apps or categories
  • Unlock apps after goals are completed
  • Track steps and progress
  • Maintain streaks and stats
  • Send reminders and notifications
  • Display leaderboards if enabled
  • Measure the effectiveness of our advertising (only with your consent)

How Information Is Stored

LimitFit is designed to store most app data locally on your device. Local data may include:

  • Profile preferences
  • Selected goals
  • Block settings
  • Step progress
  • Streaks
  • Stats
  • Notification preferences

If future versions of LimitFit add account syncing, cloud backup, analytics, or server-based features, this Privacy Policy will be updated to explain what data is collected and how it is used.

Advertising Measurement (Meta)

LimitFit may advertise on Meta platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, to reach new users.

To measure whether those ads are effective (for example, whether an ad led to an app install or app open), LimitFit uses the Meta (Facebook) SDK for iOS. The SDK sends limited, largely aggregated measurement events to Meta Platforms, Inc.

This may involve:

  • A device or advertising identifier
  • App events such as installs or app opens
  • Aggregated conversion measurement through Apple’s SKAdNetwork and Meta’s Aggregated Event Measurement

Before this data is used for advertising measurement, LimitFit asks for your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. If you decline, or if you turn off “Allow Apps to Request to Track” in iOS Settings, LimitFit does not use this data to track you for advertising.

LimitFit does not share your health, movement, profile, streak, stats, or app-blocking data with Meta.

Data shared with Meta is handled according to Meta’s own data policies. You can learn more in Meta’s Privacy Policy.

Data Sharing

LimitFit does not sell your personal data.

LimitFit may share limited information only when needed for core app functionality or, with your consent, for advertising measurement, such as:

  • Apple Health, Motion, Screen Time, Notifications, Game Center, and App Store systems
  • Apple payment processing for subscriptions or purchases
  • Meta Platforms, Inc., solely for aggregated advertising measurement, and only if you consent through the App Tracking Transparency prompt
  • Customer support tools, if you contact support
  • Legal compliance, if required by law

LimitFit does not share your health, movement, profile, or app-blocking data with advertisers.

Health and Fitness Data

Health and movement data is sensitive. LimitFit uses this data only to provide fitness-based unlocking, progress tracking, streaks, and related features.

  • LimitFit does not use health or movement data for advertising.
  • LimitFit does not sell health or movement data.
  • LimitFit does not share health or movement data with third-party advertisers or data brokers, including Meta.

App Blocking and Screen Time Permissions

LimitFit may request Screen Time-related permissions so you can select and block apps, app categories, or websites. LimitFit uses these permissions only to provide app blocking, scheduling, shield screens, and unlock features. You can manage or revoke these permissions through iOS settings.

Notifications

LimitFit only sends notifications if you allow them. Notifications may include reminders to move, complete a block, protect a streak, or return to a scheduled goal. You can disable notifications at any time in:

  • LimitFit settings
  • iOS Settings
  • Notification settings on your device

Your Choices

You can:

  • Skip optional profile fields
  • Change your goals
  • Change your blocked apps
  • Disable notifications
  • Disable Health or Motion access
  • Disable Screen Time permissions
  • Stop using Game Center features
  • Decline the App Tracking Transparency prompt, or turn off tracking in iOS Settings, to opt out of advertising measurement
  • Delete app data by deleting the app
  • Contact us to request help with privacy questions

Data Retention

LimitFit keeps local app data for as long as the app remains installed on your device. If you delete LimitFit, locally stored app data is generally deleted from your device.

Some information controlled by Apple, such as Game Center scores, App Store purchases, or subscriptions, may remain associated with your Apple Account according to Apple’s own policies. Aggregated advertising measurement data shared with Meta is retained according to Meta’s own policies.

Children’s Privacy

LimitFit is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to LimitFit, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address the issue.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information used by LimitFit. However, no app, device, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Third-Party Services

LimitFit may rely on Apple services, including:

  • HealthKit
  • Core Motion
  • Screen Time-related frameworks
  • Notifications
  • Game Center
  • App Store purchases

These services are provided by Apple and may be subject to Apple’s own privacy policies and user settings.

LimitFit also uses the Meta (Facebook) SDK for iOS for advertising measurement, as described in the “Advertising Measurement (Meta)” section. This service is provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. and is subject to Meta’s own privacy policies.

Advertising and Tracking

LimitFit does not sell your data to advertisers.

LimitFit does not track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites except for the limited advertising measurement described in the “Advertising Measurement (Meta)” section, and only if you consent through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt.

If you do not consent to tracking, LimitFit does not use your data to track you for advertising.
